Ormco has refined its archwire manufacturing and development process into a science to ensure that archwire performance, when combined with orthodontic systems, achieves the most consistent and precise results.

OPTIONAL ADDITIONAL ARCHLINES ARE AVAILABLE TO CONTROL TORQUE WHEN NEEDED:

Larger sizes are available:

• .019 × .0275, .020 × .0275, .021 × .0275 in CuNiTi, TMA, and SS materials

• .016 × .0275 SS is for cases requiring control of lateral movement and tooth alignment.

THE BOWL PROCEDURE:

PHASE 1

Target:
Begin with light force to widen the arch and adjust the posterior teeth. The circular archwire is crucial for aligning the seventh teeth and evenly guiding the arch in preparation for the Ultima wire. Close the anterior tooth gap with intermaxillary elastics at the beginning of the 14x0275 wire phase. By the end of Phase 1, the tooth rotation command is complete and the tooth tilt (Tip) command is partially corrected.

Note:
Maintain stage 1 until all teeth have braces.

Target:
Initiate the tooth tilting (tip) command and adjust the tooth torque. Re-adjust the bracket placement.

Target:
The approach during this phase will be based on the treatment status:

1. Unless something changes, keep the current archwire.

2. SS archwires are used to close spaces, shape the dental arch, or create additional body structures or make adjustments.

3. Use an overdrive bow to increase torque.
   Regardless of the type of archwire used, the finishing phase includes assessing the hard and soft tissues and adjusting the shape as needed.
