• Temper colors and water spots are not signs of corrosion. Remove these spots promptly by rubbing vigorously.
• Inappropriate materials that contain high levels of chlorine or acid must be avoided.
• Stainless steel instruments may never be pooled together with rusty instruments or instruments with damaged surfaces, to prevent contact corrosion.

• Can also be caused by rust containing water used during cleaning or autoclaving. Only use demineralized water.
• Thoroughly clean new autoclaves before initial use.
