Stains.

• Insuffi cient manual or mechanical cleaning.
•  Regional water characteristics (e.g. high chlorine content) can lead to staining and damage.
• Inappropriate cleaning, care and disinfecting materials.
• Dosage instructions of the cleaning materials are ignored.
• Sterilization steam is contaminated.
• Pharmaceutical residue.

• Rinse water and sterilization steam contain a high concentration of minerals, heavy metal ions or silicates. Therefore only use deminera.
• lized water.
• Temper colors and water spots are not signs of corrosion. Remove these spots promptly by rubbing vigoursly.
• Inappropriate materials that contain high levels of chlorine or acid must be avoided.
• Stainless steel instruments may never be pooled together with rusty instruments or instruments with damaged surfaces, to prevent contact corrosion.

• Can also be caused by rust containing water used during cleaning or autoclaving. Only use demineralized water.
• Thoroughly clean new autoclaves before initial use.
